LipService/LBrush Global Preferences

Global Preferences Utility

Some preferences of LipService/LBrush can be adjusted here.

Note: Global Preferences are not saved within the scene but with 3ds max preferences.

  • 'Stroke Interpolation' is used for Brush Tools to define some number of brush steps are performed in-between mouse move events.
  • 'Use Built-in Raytracer' checkbox. Set 'On' to use LBrush build-in raytracer for locating tool brush when starting the strokes of when brush gliding is enabled.
  • 'Treat faces as 2 sided' checkbox. It can affect the brush behavior when sculpting such objects as planes. This option is turned of by default for better performance.
  • 'When stroke is finished' radio button group regulates the acceleration tree update. 'Rebuild tree' is the best choice but can decrease the performance a bit and leads to some delay when stroke over is finished in the case of high resolution object. So 'Recalc Extents Only' is selected by default it is greater faster than rebuilding all the tree but can lead to some raytracing artifacts when object is modified much.
  • 'Leaf size' the number of faces in the leaves of acceleration tree. You can vary this number to get better performance.
  • 'Use Tablet' turns on the support for Wacom tablets, so pressure of stylus is is used as brush tools strength.
